Cardinal is a serialised six-part one-hour drama based on the critically acclaimed novels by Giles Blunt. The series is written by Aubrey Nealon (Orphan Black), who acts as Executive Producer alongside Sienna Films’ Jennifer Kawaja and Julia Sereny (Titanic, TV mini series), and is directed by award-winner Daniel Grou (19-2).

Set in the small Northern town of Algonquin Bay, Cardinal follows detectives John Cardinal (Billy Campbell, The Killing) and Lise Delorme (Karine Vanasse, Revenge) as they attempt to uncover the mystery of what happened to a young girl. But as the case grows in scope and horror, a dark secret from Cardinal’s past threatens to derail the investigation.

The #1 hit series returns for Season 2 and 3, each taking place in a different season of the year, highlighting the beautiful landscape of Algonquin Bay and the people and crimes that happen within it.

Season 2 begins amid the lush abundance of summer, a few months after Detective Delorme uncovered how far Cardinal was prepared to go to protect his wife. The detectives’ growing bond is tested when a young woman is discovered without ID, keys or memory, and medical examiners find a bullet in her brain. Cardinal and Delorme uncover a string of dismemberment killings seemingly attached to an unfamiliar and sinister form of religious sacrifice.

In Season 3 of Cardinal, not all is beautiful in the glorious fall colours of Algonquin Bay. A grisly double murder of a couple in town kicks off Cardinal and Delorme’s pursuit of their most dangerous adversaries yet.
